What is Meso-botox?
Meso-botox is a cosmetic procedure that can reduce fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in smoother, younger-looking skin. The technique can also reduce pore size and oil production and decrease facial sweating.
This procedure is similar to Botox in that you’ll receive botulinum toxin injections in your skin. Meso-botox, however, uses a small needle and diluted Botox. With meso-botox, the botox is injected in a wider distribution throughout your face in the dermal layer of the skin. With traditional Botox treatments, providers inject Botox into the muscle layer which is deeper than the dermal layer.
While results vary from patient to patient, but many patients experience the following benefits:

How long do the effects of Meso-Botox last?
The results of Meso-Botox last about three to six months, the same as regular Botox. You can repeat meso-botox treatments every 3-6 months to maintain desired results.
Who is a good candidate for a meso-botox facial?
Before having this procedure, your MOBO provider will review your medical history to determine whether you’re a good candidate. You should not have meso-botox if you are pregnant or breastfeeding; have an active infection; are experiencing fever, cold, or flu symptoms. You also should not have meso-botox if you have had an allergic reaction to botox in the past or have any of the contraindictions to botox including a history of Myasthenia Gravis.
What can you expect from a meso-botox facial?
Pre-care
- Avoid blood thinners for about 3 to 7 days before treatment to prevent bruising.
- Avoid agents that thin the blood include ibuprofen, aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E supplements and alcohol for 3 to 7 days before treatment.
- Don’t use anti-aging products before treatment, such as those containing glycolic acid and retinol, for 2-3 days prior to the procedure.
- Clean your face as you normally would on treatment day, but don’t apply makeup.
During the treatment
- Your meso-botox facial is about 30 minutes.
- Your provider will review your medical history and determine if you are a candidate for the treatment.
- You will sign consent forms for the procedure.
- Your provider will inject diluted botox into the dermal layer of the skin throughout the face.
- It’s normal to have mild redness after the procedure. Redness is temporary and usually improves within an hour.
- Bruising and swelling is also possible.
Post-care
- You should avoid sweat-inducing activities, including exercise, for 24 hours.
- Wash your wash with a gentle cleanser that night after treatment. Avoid any harsh skincare or makeup for 6-9 hours after the procedure.
- Avoid any ablative procedures such as laser, chemical peels, or microneedling for two weeks.
- Follow the post-care instructions given to you by your provider.
